Characteristics of mollusks

They have a soft body, which gives them the name Molluscus, meaning soft

They have either an internal or external shell

They have a mantle, which is a tissue that covers the body mass of a mollusk        

They have a muscular foot or tentacles as in the case with squid or octopus

Many have a radulla, which is a tonguelike toothed organ

- Helps to bring algae and other types of food into the mouth

       They are cephalopods
