Welcome              Orchids            Wetlands              Orchid Genetics               Our Plan             About Us

The Bartlet Orchid Protection Project (BOPP) was established in 2004 in a conservationist effort to maintain the genetic variation that is represented by local orchid populations.  In protecting local orchid populations, BOPP attempts to measure the degree of genetic differentiation before deciding on what measures to take to protect the genetic diversity of a species.  Preserving biodiversity is essential for ecosystems to respond flexibly to damage or change.

The organization is named after the Bartlet family who contributed not only funds, but their own personal time in helping establish our organization.

We are continually seeking to find new ways to protect local orchid species.  Please email to contribute or volunteer.
