• There was law known as the Magnuson-Stevens of 1976 this set precedent for other laws it regulates the fishing of the anadromous fish in the exclusive economic zone.

• A ban in North Carolina against on red drum stating you could only have drum less than 18 inches or larger than 27 inches.

• The Fishing Quota Act of 2005 requires that the Individual Fishing Quota System undergo a check every five years.
